The object of study is the condensation product of melamine and formaldehyde - melamine-formaldehyde resin. The experiments investigated the physicochemical properties of resin, its composition is optimized. The paper presents the methods of analysis used in the research process. The new data on the solubility of the sorbent in water and aqueous sulfuric acid solutions, showing the advantage of urea-melamine-formaldehyde resin before.New data on the effect of temperature and the content of sulfur dioxide in the feed gas to the adsorption capacity of the polymer sorbent. On the basis of the experimental data developed heat-resistant polymeric sorbent that effectively removing from flue and exhaust gases, sulfur dioxide. The results formed the basis for the development of treatment technology of various gases from sulfur dioxide.
