Compounds according to formula [Ме2+1-хМ3е+х(ОН)2][(Аn-1)x/n× mH2O] with a rhombohedral cell, arecalled layered double hydroxides gidrotalkitnogo series. In the preparation of layered double hydroxides hydroxide layers can alternate two different ways to form a structure with two polytypes with a rhombohedral (symmetry 3R) and the hexagonal unit cell (symmetry 2H). Many of the layered double hydroxides crystallize in a structure with a rhombohedral cell, which is called hydrotalcite – a natural mineral Mg6Al2(OH)16[CO3 ×4H2O] (a compound belonging to a group with the symmetry of R3m). In the presented workwe investigate the structural type gidroksoalyuminata magnesium. It is shown that the structures are formed with the formula Mg6Al2(OH)18∙4,5H2O. The parameters of the hexagonal crystal lattice (nc) target phase are: a = 3.056 (3) Å, c = 23.53 (4) Å. These parameter valuesс correspond to the value of the parameter for the structure meixneriteMg6Al2 (OH)18∙4H2O (pcr this phase by JPDS 35-965: a = 3,054 Å, a = 23,40 Å). These compounds are described in crystallographicallyrhombohedral system with the space group R-3m. Consequently, the proposed metals proportion Mg2+ and Al3+ in the initial suspension, the time and temperature of the synthesis is optimal for gidroksoalyuminata magnesium.
