FIRE AND HEAT RESISTANT EPOXY COMPOSITES FILLED WITH SILICA CARBIDE

One of the promising directions for solving the problem of increasing fire resistance of epoxy compositions is use of high dispersive silica carbide in their formulations. Silica carbide found its application in different industrial areas due to its special structure features, high hardness and inertness to many aggressive environments. The possibility of high dispersive silica carbide application in formulations of epoxy compositions with a purpose of increasing fire and heat resistance has been studied in the work. It has been shown that the silica carbide can be used to effectively increase fire and heat resistance of hardened epoxy composites and make them cheaper.
